The GSBC's fall course at Bergen Community College's (BCC) Institute for Learning in Retirement (ILR) will be open for registration on 29 August at 10am!

The ILR is for those 55 and older and will take place over five consecutive Tuesdays in November. GSBC Trustee and Education Chair, Fred Voss will lead the course.

Voss is a genealogist, holds a Certificate of Genealogical Research from Boston University’s CE program, is a researcher and tour guide at Ellis Island, and is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable teacher. (If you would like to meet Voss, he will be giving a talk on Ellis Island at the GSBC’s September General Meeting on 26 September, 7pm, at the Ridgewood Public Library Auditorium. All are welcome.)

So join us at BCC, make new friends, hone your research skills, and discover your family’s fascinating history.

Genealogy: Researching Your Family Tree IR- 026
Many people are interested in their family's past. This course covers the basics of searching records in the US such as census and vital records. We will discuss both traditional and online resources—therefore students must be familiar with navigating the internet. This course is sponsored by the Genealogical Society of Bergen County.
