#GENGEN (GENealogy over GENerations & GENetics over GENerations) is the newly branded name for the NYC based The Genealogy Event. The new logos will now be viewable via the website and social media. Some more highlights:

General Information

Dates:
Sat Oct 24th (Genealogy Focus) 10:00AM-4PM;
Sun Oct 24th (DNA Focus) 12PM-4PM.

Venue:
Scandinavia House (38th and Park — 5MIN from Grand Central Station, parking garages nearby)

Panel Discussions
Panel discussions will occur throughout Saturday, where up to three panelists will form part of a discussion. Some of the organizations that will be supporting these panels — and new to the NYC event — include Green-Wood Cemetery, Woodlawn Cemetery, MyHeritage, Archives of the Archdiocese of New York, Queens Archives, NYU Glucksman Ireland House, Concordia University and more. The schedule is being finalized and will be updated to the website on or before Sept 6.

Small Group Roundtables
The aim of this event is now to create more connections, collaborations and discussions between all participants. These small group roundtables, to be known as "Pabble" will provide the opportunity to anyone to join or form a topic at a small group roundtable. This will help foster a community of sharing — as there is a tremendous amount of collective expertise — over genealogy. There is currently an app under development and it is expected that it will be ready for use at this fall's event. VIP ticket holders will in fact have an opportunity to preview its set up.

Pop Up Tables
A selection of companies/organizations will offer pop up tables during designated times and offering one or more of the following: preferred pricing, discount or value added offer. It will no be an exhibition hall but a 'pop up' concept.

Talks
There will be several talks throughout the Saturday with an afternoon schedule of talks for the Sunday DNA event. On the Sunday one of the talks/discussions will go in depth post testing and provide an interactive discussion on what to interpret / do next to maximize research opportunities.

Ticket Purchase
So when can one purchase tickets? Sunday Sept 6th 5PM tickets will go on sale and you're the first to know. In the ticket descriptions you will see what is included - some new features/highlights. As you will know from last year there is always a limit on VIP tickets — and they always sell out — so early notice for the 2014 VIPs!  Ticket options will be more streamlined than the 2014 options.
