Andy McCarthy—New Jersey Resources at the New York Public Library—a discussion of historical collections held at the library’s Milstein Division.

The genealogy and local history collections at New York Public Library, like the borderline in the Holland Tunnel under the Hudson River, share a physical contingency with collections on the state of New Jersey. This talk will highlight how navigating NYPL collections might serve to supplement, cross-reference, and support the primary sources and research materials found in New Jersey archives, libraries, and special collections.

Andy McCarthy is a Reference Librarian at the Milstein Division of U.S. History, Local History, and Genealogy; former special collections librarian at the Brooklyn Historical Society; former news researcher at ABC News; worked for eight years as an NYC double-decker bus tour guide.

All meetings are held in the Panasonic room, second floor, of the Secaucus Public Library located at 1379 Paterson Plank Rd. Meetings run from 11 AM to 1 PM. ALL ARE WELCOME!!! Free admission, free parking and light refreshments. A short business meeting will precede the presentations.
