     Peter A Kipp was born on 6 December 1782.¹ He was baptized on 22 December 1782.¹ He married Maria Stuyvesant, daughter of Peter Stuyvesant, 29 Feb 1802.¹ Peter A Kipp died on 10 October 1838.¹ He was buried in Hackensack.¹

     Polly Kipp was born on 26 March 1793.^2,3,4 She was baptized on 14 April 1793.⁴ She married Richard Vreeland, son of Michiel Vreeland and Margrietje Terheun, on 1 December 1810.^5,1 Polly Kipp died on 10 June 1880.⁶

     Sarah Kipp was born at Kyseberg.¹ She married William Radcliffe, son of Joachim Radcliffe Jr. and Hilletje Hogeboom, on 10 April 1761.¹

     Tiney Kipp was born on 4 January 1795.¹ She died on 15 April 1861.¹ Her estate was probated on 28 December 1861.¹

     Jens Christian Hansen Kirkeberg was born on 14 June 1871 at Gronnebaek, Haderslev Amt., Denmark.¹ He married Dagmar Frederikke Mette Juhl, daughter of Claus Claussen Juhl and Catherine Elisabeth Moller, on 17 October 1894 ((Lansingburgh) T, NY.)¹ Jens Christian Hansen Kirkeberg died on 24 May 1968 at Schagticoke, NY.¹

     Jens Christian was the 7th of nine children. Two others were known to have lived and died in NY.¹

     Soren Hansen Kirkeberg was born on 29 March 1823 at Laeborg, Ribe Amt., Denmark.¹ He married Anna Marie Dalberg, daughter of Mads Thomasen Dalberg and Maren Nielsdatter Borup, on 8 June 1855 (Jels (Sogn)Paris, Haderslev Co., Den.)¹ Soren Hansen Kirkeberg died on 25 May 1913 at Holsted, Ribe Amt, Denmark.¹

     Sarah Kirkland was born between 1787 and 1814 at Ireland (or Canada.)¹ She married Jacob Vreeland Sr., son of John Vreeland and Sophia (?).¹ Sarah Kirkland died after 1870 at New York.¹

     Alfred Kirkpatrick died on 18 August 1847 at Haverstraw, Rockland County, NY.¹

     Elizabeth Kirkpatrick was born in 1749 at Basking Ridge, NJ.¹ She married Stephen Roy, son of John Roy and Margaret Ensley.¹ Elizabeth Kirkpatrick died in 1810 at New Jersey.¹

     Evaline Kirkpatrick was born circa 1861.¹ She married Walter Lewis.¹

     Gilbert Kirkpatrick married Catherine M. (?)¹ Gilbert Kirkpatrick died on 2 September 1848 at Rockland County, NY.¹

     Harriet Rita Kirkpatrick was born on 24 June 1898 at East Rutherford, Bergen County, NJ.^1,2,3 She married John Oswald Short, son of George Short and Anne Roland Innes, on 7 June 1920 at Wesleyan Methodist Episcopal Church, East Rutherford, Bergen County, NJ.^2,3,4 Harriet Rita Kirkpatrick died on 21 July 1973 at Milford, New Haven County, CT.^2,3,1 She was buried in Hillside Cemetery in Lyndhurst.¹

     Harriet was educated in the East Rutherford Schools. Pictures of her classes remain. Because she had attained the necessary credits at age 15, she was graduated from high school, the 2nd ranking member of her class. She and her family were members of the Rutherford Methodist Church, and later the Wesleyan Methodist Church in East Rutherford. She was secretary of its Epworth League.
After graduation, Harriet attended Business College. In 1917 she applied for a job as a stenographer at Flint Kote Roofing. She was hired by her future husband, John Oswald Short. One 'quirk' was that John Short was a British Subject when they married. Harriet lost her citizenship and had to be a naturalized citizen.
In 1933, after the Depression wiped out home and savings, the family moved to Milford, Connecticut. Harriet became active in the Congregational Church in Milford, was active in the PTA, the Red Cross and hostess for many family gatherings of family from New Jersey and New England. In 1941, she suffered a cerebral hemmhorrage and miraculously survived with no long term effects.
She was a house mother during WWII at a home for girls who worked in defense plants, and continued working after the war on a part-time basis. After the death of John Short in 1953, Harriet traveled mainly to homes where her daughter's husband was stationed. In 1973 she suffered a cerebral 'event' and passed away July 21, 1973. Married name: Short.

     Henry Kirkpatrick was born circa 1865.¹ He died on 9 May 1940.¹ He was buried in Oak Hill Cemetery in Nyack.¹

     James Kirkpatrick married Elizabeth (?)¹ James Kirkpatrick died on 19 June 1842 at Haverstraw, Rockland County, NY.¹

     The death certificate of William Washington Kirkpatrick was signed by a friend of the family. It says the father was George, and the mother Mary. While in the Rockland County Courthouse in June 1996, I located a legal paper of a James Kirkpatrick. This paper which calls the family 'Kilpatrick' states that James died without more than $100.00 in property and that his son Hiram wished to be the Executor. The widow's name was Elizabeth. Children were Hiram Kilpatrick, Eliza wife of William Allison, Mary wife of Patrick Hughes, James G. Kilpatrick, Marquis Kilpatrick, Gilbert Kilpatrick and William Kilpatrick.
     In 1848, brother Gilbert Kirkpatrick, deceased, was named in a surrogate court paper by his widow Catherine. In the paper she named herself, Elizabeth and Marquis of Haverstraw; James Harvey Kirkpatrick and William Kirkpatrick of Nyack; Hiram Kirkpatrick of New Jersey and Mary wife of Patrick Hughes, residing in Penn. Because there was only one William Kirkpatrick in the 1850 Census of Nyack, and in the obituary he was listed as the youngest of 10 children, I believe the William Kirkpatrick of our line is the son of James Kirkpatrick who died in Haverstraw 19 January 1842.
     It was noted while I was in the Haverstraw Library, that in the early 1800's, a special soil for brickmaking was discovered along the banks of the Hudson River in Haverstraw. Hundreds of brickmaking operations were setup which hired thousands of laborers. A possibility of why the Kirkpatrick family moved into Haverstraw.
     There were no deeds for James Kirkpatrick. However, brother Marquis and wife Phebe sold land in Haverstraw in 1860 and recorded 1862. Phoebe Ann, wife of Marcus Kirkpatrick was buried 3 March 1861 age 35 years at Mount Report Cemetary, Haverstraw. (Records of Graveyard Inscriptions Rockland Co., NY.)¹

     James Harvey Kirkpatrick was born circa 1821.¹ He married Betsy Ann Clark on 2 February 1839 at Greenbush Presbyterian Church, Blauvelt, NY.¹ James Harvey Kirkpatrick died on 15 September 1865 at Haverstraw, Rockland County, NY.¹

     Jane Kirkpatrick was born on 25 September 1793 at South Carolina.¹ She married William Steele, son of Joseph Steele and Elizabeth Carson, on 24 December 1812 at Christian, KY.¹ Jane Kirkpatrick died on 3 August 1854 at Cooper, MO.¹
