On 9 Mar 1679 he bought a plantation in Gravesend where he lived for several years. In 15 May 1696 Major John Berry conveyed to Claes land that lay between the Hackensack and Saddle Rivers, adjoining land of Albert Albertse Terhune and Urian Luberts.5 Name variation: Claas Romeyn.5

     In 1658 he was given power of attorney from Peter Jansen van Stockholm at Ft. Orange or Beverwyck to collect debts. In 1667 he was functioning as an attorney in New Amsterdam. He must have been adult in 1658, which would make his birth before 1638.2,3
     The website stresses that it is not possible to say whether Simon on the one hand and Claes and Christoffel on the other hand are siblings. Clearly, they are all sons of a Jan, but that is the extent of it.3,4

     Thomas Romeyn was baptized on 19 March 1729 or 20 March 1729 at Pompton, NJ.1,2 He married (1) Margaretta Frelinghuysen, daughter of Theodore Jacobus Freylinghuysen and Eve Terhuyne, on 15 July 1756 at Albany, NY.1,3 Thomas Romeyn married (2) Susanna Van Campen, daughter of Abraham Van Campen and Susanna DePuy.1 Thomas Romeyn died on 22 October 1794 at Caughnawaga, NY.2
